The weather is warming up and the sun is setting later in Southern California - this means tons of community and city wide events start taking place again! From concerts and movies in the park, to arboretums, and small music events, here are some ideas to fill your summer nights! Concerts @ Hollywood Bowl Hollywood Bowl has great events from sing-a-longs to classical music shows. They also do great lease events like Above & Beyond Acoustic and Disney's Little Mermaid in Concert. With events or shows nearly every night starting in July, there is sure to be something for everyone. Harry Potter in concert or West Side Story or Tchaikovsky with Fireworks-take your pick! Wine & Jazz @ Hollywood & Highland Every Tuesday night 7-9PM starting June 30-July 28, you can enjoy free jazz concerts in the central courtyard at the Hollywood & Highland Plaza. For $10 extra, you can get 2 glasses of wine and an appetizer box as well. Artists are different every week and all proceeds benefit Project Angel Food, a group providing nutritious meals free of charge, to homes of those affected by life-threatening illnesses in Los Angeles County. What a great way to kick back and donate to a great cause. Cinespia @ Hollywood Forever Cemetery Ever watch movies in a cemetery? Now is your chance! Pack a picnic basket, comfy blankets and tarp, low chairs, and some wine and beer and get ready for a movie. The Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the final resting place for many of Hollywood's great founders and stars including writers, directors, and stars. Buy your tickets online for a variety of films in vastly different genres! Jazz Fridays @ LACMA Get your fill of great jazz music at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art every Friday night at 6 PM. This Spring/Summer program hosts great acts every week until the end of September. This is another great free show that is family friendly and great for picnics. If you are a resident of Los Angeles County, get free admission to the museum every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 3PM - 5PM and Friday 3PM - 8 PM.
