  • Revival

One of our favorite artists right now is Selena Gomez with her second studio album entitled Revival. It's a sultry R&B sound plus some upbeat EDM inspired tracks really showcase her range of talents. Recently, she has become an icon not only in music but also in fashion. Her sleek looks are catching our eye and she never fails to top each outfit off with the perfect pair of shades. We can't wait to share with you some of our favorite tracks from her album and some of her latest fashions, including sunglasses of course! selena_gomez20 Good For You: Her first album single was released in mid June with the video release shortly after. The song features A$AP Rocky and hit song writer and producer Nolan Lambroza aka Sir Nolan. This hit song is tied to a minimalistic yet sexy music video that has 2 different versions: one with A$AP and one without.selena_gomez16 Same Old Love: The funky background music is such a different sound for Gomez yet her strong vocals definitely prove that she's capable of any genre of music. The pop tune of the early fall surprisingly is not about her past relationship with Justin Bieber but actually about the familial relationships in life. tumblr_nwhsa8ECVc1qmwn8jo1_540 Me & the Rhythm: Her third single off the album has a 70's vibe and a little Daft Punk-esque beat. As Ali Szubiak from Popcrush said, the song "maintains the sleek and sexy appeal of Selena’s first Revival single “Good for You", but it’s far less crawling-on-the-ground seductive and more subtle in its appeal. selena-gomez-1 This girl has definitely revamped her style and music in her comeback and we're so glad to see her doing better than ever. We're so excited to see what Selena is going to do next! Love her music? Be sure to buy her album on iTunes or anywhere else you get music. Love her sunglasses? Check out our website at www.edgeiwear.com to get your own pair of stylish yet classic shades.

  • Following Kendall Jenner's Accessory Style

We all know how big of an influence Kendall Jenner is ; being a part of one of the most talked about families will have that effect. But she definitely can stand on her own in the fashion world: with huge campaigns for Estee Lauder and walking in Chanel, Balmian, Dolce & Gabbana, and Marc Jacobs's shows, Kendall has developed an enviable personal style that we'd all love to have! Her clothing, although neutral, has a certain kind of sophistication that is always enhanced with her accessory choices. What we've noticed is that she nearly always has some type of handbag and of course sunglasses. Kendall has some staple style that she always goes back to - are these styles that you would wear on a daily basis? Cross body and satchel type bags seem to be the most popular with Kendall. She had a variety of color, shapes, sizes for each style. Structured bags with shoulder straps provide the carrying space of a standard satchel with the hands free ease of cross body bags. From Celine to Michael Kors, the handbags Kendall chooses are both versatile, useful, and stylish! Kendall's sunglasses style can only be described as classic. She rocks the aviator and wayfarer shapes like it's nobody's business.  Her heart/oval shaped face is perfect for these looks that will never go out of style. She plays with super dark lenses, mirrored lenses, metals, and plastics. These styles actually look good on almost anyone and they're neutral enough to match with any outfit! At Edge, we love the newest styles and fashions but we also love going back to basics like Kendall Jenner. Here are a few of our styles that we think Kendall would love-click on their names to get to our site!

  • From the Runway: Fall Fashion

As fall officially begins and all of the fashion weeks wrap up, we wanted to share some of the more interesting trends for this year. Recently, the 70’s look has really rolled back in with flared jeans, round glasses, and high-waisted anything. The must have of this fall though? Car wash pleat skirts. This unique shape made their appearance in Christian Dior, Tommy Hilfiger, and Oscar de la Renta F/W 15 shows. This trend has proven that it can go both delicate and funky. The structure yet lack of structure gives an interesting point to focus on. High fashion and street wear alike has embraced this cool spin off of a pleated skirt.

Fur (faux fur of course) is also making a comeback in a huge way this fall and winter. Colored fur is especially popular this year to add that pop into any outfit. Dolce and Gabbana, Zac Posen, and Elie Saab all debuted the colorful style in their shows. The fuzzy style is also making an appearance in stoles, collars, caplets, and even just on cuffs.

  • LA County Fair!

Some of us at EDGE took our early Friday afternoon to go walk around the 93rd annual LA County Fair. The fair is right over a fence and through a parking lot from us so why not go and check it out? With rides, food, games, shopping, exhibits, and performances, there really is something for everyone.1

On this outing, we brought some of our newest EDGE styles for fair goers to try on (a big thank you to everyone who we talked to)! People came from near and far to be at the fair, some coming from as far as Camarillo. Some mentioned they were super excited for Esmeralda’s Traveling Circus and some came to find the ever so popular deep fried Oreos. We even met a couple that purchased the unlimited rides wristbands that were searching for fun houses all throughout the fair grounds. Publication1 Though most people we talked to didn't have a favorite sunglasses style, they could identify what was obviously cool for this year: the round shapes, vintage flat lenses, and vibrant patterns and colors. We brought a variety of styles for people to try on including our mirrored lenses and clubmasters along with our etched roses and printed daisies. You can check out all of our newest styles on edgeiwear.com!

  • Edge I-Wear Spotlight: Eunice Kim

This week under the Edge I-Wear spotlight, we've got Miss Fashion Blogger Eunice Kim-founder and blogger of Eunique Kollection! We've held a mini interview and asked her 5 questions that are perfect for asking every fashion blogger! Read up to see her responses!

eunique-kollection-panthersandhippies-nastygal-top-style-stylist-fashion-blogger-pactography-11 Eunice in the Edge I-Wear Barbados sunnies
     1. When did you begin blogging & how did you start to get into it?  I began blogging late 2013, but didn't get really into it until later in 2014. I've always seen fashion as an everyday application of art and design, so I first started with #OOTD posts on Instagram. When I saw that the response was good, I decided to take it onto a blog platform and add creative elements to the concept and execution of the post that make it unique and interesting.
Refreshing-Silk-eunique-kollection-stylist-freelance-creative-top-fashion-blogger-kaii-shopkaii-silk-pactography-7 Looking stunning in the Barbados
    2. What do you like the most about blogging? I like that I can express myself in whatever way I want. I like to write quirky poems or rhymes that complement the images. So rather than having me rambling on in excruciating detail about how I styled the outfit (which, trust me, can be very lengthy), I will sometimes write a whimsical poem that ties into the central theme of each post. This creative control is what I like best about blogging. That and you get to meet so many great people along the way!

    3. How would you describe your fashion style? Feminine, edgy, chic, & petite. I add that last one in there because every person has to dress to their body shape, which affects the types of clothing you will choose to wear (i.e. heels > flats, high waisted > low waist/drop waist, etc.). Being of petite build, you will rarely catch me in maxi skirts or hemlines below the knee (minus pants). Despite these limitations, I still have an eclectic style and to be honest, my style depends mostly on the weather.
    eunique_kollection1 Image via Eunice Kim
    4. What is one fashion accessory that you cannot leave home without? A bag, necklace, and a jacket; You need something to carry all your stuff, necklaces can instantly elevate any outfit no matter how plain, and I get cold easily. 5. Since it’s summer, where have/will you be headed for vacay? I'll be going into the desert to Joshua Tree for a camping trip with friends. I can't wait to stargaze and savor these warm summer nights!  We hope that you have fun taking in the beauty at Joshua Tree, Eunice! It's THE perfect place for stargazing! So there you have it folks! Be sure to check out Eunice's super cool blog where she talks about fashion, fun, and more! Visit her site here at: www.euniquekollection.com And speaking of bloggers, who are some of YOUR favorite fashion bloggers? Let us know in the comments below and maybe you'll be seeing them featured on our page soon!

  • Barbados Takes Los Angeles

There are so many places in LA that everyone should visit and so many events that come our way during the summer time! Emily takes her sunnnies on a journey through Melrose Avenue and then to HARD Summer Music Festival at the Pomona Fairplex right here in our own backyard.

bluejam1 Barbados shades go to brunch
Even though I’ve lived in Southern California all my life, I’ve never actually been to West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. My first experience on the crazy art filled street was nothing short of delicious-which is a weird way to describe a street, but the food…
    IMG_64421 Florentine Eggs Benedict
When in Los Angeles, brunch is the way to go. Blu Jam Café has a cool, laid back vibe with some seriously mouth-watering food.  From brunch carbonara to vanilla French toast, there is something here for everyone.  My personal favorite brunch food?  Eggs Benedict.  I cut into my perfectly poached egg to watch the golden yolk and dill hollandaise run down the spinach and mushrooms and soak into the English muffin on the bottom. The warm smell of freshly ground coffee surrounds you as soon as you walk in so of course - couple of Dirty Chai Double Espressos with Spiced Chai Tea. The portions are so large that you’re sure you can’t finish it but somehow… it happens. madeinla1After a filling breakfast, what better way to walk it off than walking down Melrose? My friends and I popped into NastyGal , DASH, and Theory and drooled over Alexander McQueen and Hérve Léger. We stopped for murals, spray paint art, and stuff taped on light posts. Every street you cross and every corner you turn has something new, exciting, and different. Our time on Melrose was over; we had 50 miles to travel to be at HARD summer for the night…
hardsummer1 In front of the HARD Summer sign!
IMG_6494 Fireworks at the HARD Stage during Porter!
HARD summer is a 2 day music festival that happens annually in August. Top DJs and hip-hop artists show up for 1-2 hour sets for the 65,000 attendees at 5 different stages.  It definitely takes some experience to know how to get phone service where there is none and how not to lose your friends (or your car). People come to music festivals for all types of reasons: some for the music, some for the fashion, and some just for the party. Whatever your reason is, no one is judging. Under the blazing sun and on a dirt patch, the most memorable artists for me on Day 1 were The Weeknd, Porter Robinson, and Taiwanese American DJ Giraffage. With thumping bass and awesome pyrotechnics, the main stage was a black hole where time very quickly slipped away. Fast forward 12 hours and after washing off a pound of dirt… Day 2 began. Whereas day 1 music was kind of mellow, day 2 can only be described as “down and dirty.” IMG_64601GTA and RL Grime both threw down some hard hitting sets just as the day was becoming night. Surprise appearances by Justin Bieber and Korean pop star CL from 2NE1 during Jack Ü made the crowd go crazy. And with that, I had survived my 5th festival. Though music festivals aren’t for everyone and they can get expensive, they are a once in a life time experience. You’ll never know if you love it or hate it if you never try it! There are so many places to visit in LA and so many things that can be done in one day, boredom should never be an option.  Live your life on the edge and occasionally…jump!
