Ice Cream, Sherbet, and FroYo - Oh my!

If you couldn't tell, we're food lovers here. And - if you're anything like me - you go crazy for ice cream. And you pack as many toppings as you can into your single serve cup (single serve? ha! who am I kidding; i eat like a queen) because what's the point of having ice cream without shoveling three tons of crushed oreo's on top? That's not a world I want to live in I can tell you that. For all of you who can't handle dairy products or choose to keep them out of your diet, we've got a few fantastic combination's for you too. We won't let you melt in this heat without having something delicious to cool you down!

Ice Cream

Salt & Straw- Honey Lavender

When it comes to ice cream, my favorite is the classic vanilla. I know, I'm boring. I've come to terms with it. Sticks and stones, people! Like I mentioned earlier, I'm a topping gal - so vanilla lets me explore lots of combinations without distracting from the flavor of the ice cream. Think of ice cream (sorbet and frozen yogurt as well) as an outfit, and toppings as an accessory - like our sunglasses. You want the sunglasses to add to your outfit, complement it, and enhance. It's a balance. My go-to toppings are caramel, brownie bits, nuts (preferably almonds) and more caramel sauce. And fudge. How can I forget fudge?! I have a sugar addiction I can't help it! Now, we are located in LA county, about a 30 minute drive from downtown, so I frequent a lot of amazing shops with fantastic combinations that push me out of my comfort zone. There is one shop called Salt & Straw that has a flavor called Honey Lavender that is TO DIE FOR. My second favorite flavor is Sumptown coffee & compartes love nuts - I mean, come on. COFFEE AND ICE CREAM? I don't think I have to explain that one.

Sherbet

I was was younger I was lactose intolerant. So every summer I ate 0 tubs of ice cream and every bowl of cereal I had was made with soy milk (my life was horrible, I know). I was never a big sherbet eater though; I kind of just ate ice cream anyway and powered through the pain later. Now, my current coworker swears by this sherbet at 31 flavors called wild 'n reckless. It's sour and tart (which doesn't surprise me since all I see him eating is sour patch kids!) with flavors of green apple, raspberry, and fruit punch! It looks like you're eating a magical unicorn or a rainbow, but with one spoonful you'll face will be squished up in delicious tang-y goodness. If you're in to that feeling, then I recommend this flavor for you! You wont be disappointed. Pinky promise!

Frozen Yogurt

I love yogurt! I don't eat it that often (I actually can't remember the last time I had it), but whenever I do it's like fireworks going off in my mouth. With the rise of veganism, there has been a lot of coconut yogurt brands coming out, and coconut frozen yogurt flavors!  is one of my favorite coconut milk ice cream & frozen yogurt brands. You can't go wrong with their amazing collection! From mocha almond fudge, to mint chocolate chip, and butter pecan - I mean they have a flavor for everyone! Now, you can always make your own coconut frozen yogurt if you would prefer to add your own toppings, and it's very simple. Simply take some of their yogurt, add in whatever mixin's and fixin's you'd like, then pop it in the freezer for 30 or so minutes! Being dairy free has never been so delicious.
