  • Festival Season!

In the past few years, "festival season" has not only become synonymous with a time of the year but also a fashion style. Festival style embodies the laidback, fun, boho feel that you get from being at these events in the spring. Of course we want to help you look your best for this season, but first we'll share with you the most popular places to go... coachella Coachella: Located in Indio, CA, Coachella is the epitome of festivals and the inspiration for many of the styles to come. This is one of the festivals that don't adhere to just one genre of music, which makes it perfect for all ages (unless you're camping, then you need to be 18+ unless you have a parent!). stagecoach Stagecoach: Love country music? This is the festival for you. Happening a week after Coachella in the same location, Stagecoach brings all of the country music fans into the desert. LIB Lightning in a Bottle: A truly different experience in festivals, LIB presented by The Do LaB features music, art, yoga, and education. This festival brings a different vibe with guest speakers, interactive art installations, and group meditation. Set in Bradley, CA, this almost spiritual event is as eyeopening as it is fun. govball Governors Ball: Taking place on Randall’s Island Park in New York, this cool affair strives for good vibes from noon to midnight for 3 days. Also an all ages event, Gov Ball is a great place to take the whole family to listen to great music and eat really good food. Check out the food lineup on their website for some seriously mouthwatering options. ec.JPG Electric Daisy Carnival: The mother of all EDM festivals- EDC is the largest, craziest of them all, located at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. 3 days of music non stop from dusk til dawn, it takes quite a bit of preparation to push through. Insomniac doesn't skimp on any part of the production; from stages to pyrotechnics to art installations, every aspect is top notch. OSL.JPG Outside Lands: Taking place in Golden Gate Park, this music and arts festival is gren, sustainable, and very outdoors-y! OSL isn't just about the music though, go and discover local winemakers, NorCal craft beers, food, comedy. Though the line ups aren't quite out yet, we're pretty sure that it won't disappoint. It doesn't matter where you are, east coast, west coast, or midwest, there are plenty of festivals for everyone. With different genres of music, styles of art, arrays of food and drink, you're sure to find an event that is perfect for you. Let us know where you plan to go this year!

  • Sunglasses Care!

Did you know that even cheap sunglasses can last a long time with the right care? Here are some tips to keep your glasses in their best condition! KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA   Cleaning: Most of us just grab the nearest cloth to us (probably a shirt) to clean off our glasses, but what happens is that even with the softest shirt, the fibers are leaving microscopic scratched on the lenses! Ever use your breath? You're just moving dirt from one side to the other. Look for an eye wear liquid cleaner or a very mild dish soap with no added lotions. First, run your glasses under warm water to rinse off the dirt and dust. Use cleaner or soap and gently work it into the cracks and crevices of your glasses, then rinse it off again. Be sure to dry them immediately with a lint free or microfiber cloth. scratch Lens Repair: Many small issues with sunglasses can be repaired relatively easily, a few tricks are all you need to make your glasses new again! There are quite a few ways that you can polish or fill in scratches to make them less visible... Try toothpaste for example! Take the most simple white toothpaste (no polishing grains, no whitening properties, not minty, and not gel) and use a cotton ball to apply to your scratched lens. Rub in the toothpaste in a circular motion for  10 to 15 seconds and then rinse off with cold water. If it doesn't quite fill it the first time, repeat several more times until the scratch is gone If you can't find plain toothpaste, baking soda can be used as well.  Make a paste with one part water and two parts baking soda. Like the toothpaste, use a cotton ball to apply the baking soda paste to the lens in a circular motion. Rinse and repeat if necessary. repair Frame Repair: Unless your frame broke in half, there is probably a good change it can be fixed. Invest in a small glasses repair kit-they usually come with screwdrivers, extra screws, and pins in multiple sizes. This will come in handy if a screw comes loose or disappears! If you need to adjust the arms, the kind of material matters. If your glasses have metal arms, take some pliers and take a soft cloth to protect while bending. As long as the frames sit level on a table, you're good to go! If your glasses are plastic, it'll take a little more work and some heat- however, doing it yourself could potentially ruin your frames. Take your plastic frames to an eye wear professional to see if they can be fixed. KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA Invest in a good case for you reading glasses or sunglasses, it'll help prolong the life of your glasses. Eyewear displays or boxes are also useful if you have many pairs to store (or show off), these boxes are multipurpose and can be used to store anything! We have both available in our online store www.edgeiwear.com.
